I'm once again delving into Microraptor's universe and our mermaid terrorists are allied with Nemo II, a pirate submariner. He showed up early on in the Cryptida series, but hasn't been seen since his ship was nearly destroyed by a giant squid.

BTW, I am retroactively wondering if the giant cephalopod that attacked the Nautilus II may have had anything to do (same species, or even the same individual) with the one that much later appeared in Grinder$...
