I created Doctor McLean for this year's 30 Days of Characters challenge, and this makes the shortest turnaround of one of those characters turning up in the comic.

I'm assuming the doctor is a Pink Floyd reference. Now I have that kazoo solo in my head...

The name is actually a M*A*S*H reference. McLean Stevenson played Col Henry Blake on the show so I combined the actor and character first names.

Well, Pink Floyd's "Corporal Clegg" opens with the line, "Hey there, Eugene, this is Henry McLean", so that's what I thought of.

but yeah birdshot is a pest control tool, not a weapon

To be fair, they were supposed to be on an archeological dig. So worries about snakes in the undergrowth and beneath rocks are valid concerns

This seems like the origin story for many DC supervillians. Hmm, does he become "The Scarred Treasure Hunter?" Of course that would just be a rip-off of Marvel's Kraven.
