Gwenna's father was sort of introduced in that Jungle Romance comic cover I did for Valentine's Day 2014. I thought the character design was pretty good, so I thought I would reuse it.
Gwenna's stepmom Danielle has MST3Kfan of Pow! Right in the Nostalgia to thank for existing. He put out a call for family members for his "Vacation Aggravation" story line. Danielle is the younger sister of Chase's mother, which makes Chase and Gwenna cousins by marriage.
We've met Junior and Deena previously in the Ruthless Ro-Man story, and got a similar recap of their history. Gwenna's teenage incarnation and her friends are modeled after the Golden Age teen comic Junior from Fox Features Syndicate itself an obvious copy of the popular Archie books. I have drawn heavily from the Fox Features stable for some parts of my comic, and when I discovered the existence of "Gwenny" the redheaded love interest for their titular Junior, it seemed perfect for Gwenna's past being half of the Betty and Veronica team. This is also part of the reason I ended up switching Gwenna's hair color from brunette to red.
Also, what happened to Goofy? Did he become a super villain? Because his design has the look of either the evil villain or mad scientist trope. Either way, someone with little regard for the safety of others.
Also, since her backstory is based off of an Archie ripoff. Did you have Deena marry Junior because Veronica wins Archie? Or just because it gives a good reason for why Gwenna is with Kaza.
